On behalf of the company, we now invite a bright professional to join a friendly and professional engineering team in Estonia in the position of: TPS Design Engineer.
In this role, you will be directly involved in the design and development of high and medium voltage substations for major railway electrification projects. You will work closely with international experts and local stakeholders, ensuring that TPS designs are technically sound, optimized and fully compliant with all applicable standards and local regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out comprehensive design of high and medium voltage substations, covering all technical requirements and design phases from generic/concept to application and detailed design, including back-office support during construction and commissioning.
- Coordinate physical layouts and equipment arrangements, optimizing solutions in line with stakeholder and third‑party requirements.
- Review and verify key electrical calculations, including equipment sizing, grounding/earthing grids, auxiliary services and short‑circuit studies.
- Cooperate closely with assembly and commissioning teams, providing technical support and resolving real on-site challenges.
- Ensure full compliance with local legislation, requirements, standards and technical specifications throughout the design process.
- Apply knowledge of local project development regulations, including construction permits, expertise/approval procedures and final permissions required to energies (hot commission) HV systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or similar).
- Proven experience in high and medium voltage substation design, covering the full cycle from generic/concept to application and detailed design, plus support during construction and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of technical requirements for HV/MV substations, including physical layout and equipment arrangement in coordination with stakeholders and third parties.
- Solid experience with key electrical calculations: equipment sizing, grounding/earthing grids, auxiliary services and short-circuit studies.
- Good understanding of local legislation and regulations for HV projects, including permits, expertise/approval procedures and final permissions to energize (hot commissioning).
- Language skills: English at minimum B2 level (spoken and written); Estonian language skills are a strong advantage, as the specialist will work in Estonia.
- Organized and analytical personality, always striving to find the most efficient and high-quality technical solutions.
